Wild Life Sydney re-opened on 13 September 2011 under the new ownership of Merlin Entertainments.
A full list of exhibits in this interesting centre can be found at this link: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wild_Life_Sydney
Attached are a few of my photos. The first photo is of a short beaked echidna, Australia's most widespread native animal. It was curled up looking like a bottle brush beside a tree trunk in the very corner of its enclosure This link will tell you more about this elusive animal: https://www2.environment.nsw.gov.au/topics/animals-and-plants/native-animals/native-animal-facts/land-mammals/echidnas
The wombat is the lazy one asleep on its back. A nocturnal animal of course.
The photo of the Platypus is rather indistinct because it was swimming around a high speed in a circle but always stopping for a few seconds in its favourite spot under a waterfall. Here is a link if you want to know more about this fascinating egg laying mammal: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Platypus
I hope to see more platypus when I visit Tasmania next March/April and of course the Tasmanian Devil.
Finally, I couldn't resist a last photo of a Koala.
Well folks that's all for now. It's getting late and I need to do some sorting ready for packing in the morning.
I will have to post blogs about the Indian Pacific Train once I get home.
